Auto air conditioning service and repair When an AC system does not cool properly, you can easily be tested for a low charge by adding a small amount of refrigerant (usually between 2-4oz). One of the most common failures of mobile AC systems is that they leak. When the system is low on refrigerant, it will not perform or cool as well. By adding a small amount of refrigerant, you are testing for a low charge condition. Once you add some refrigerant, if cooling improves, you have confirmed that the system is low on refrigerant. The system should then be recovered and leak tested before adding any more refrigerant or recharging.

Auto engine balancing Engine Balance Flywheel A 4 cylinder engine produces a power stroke every half crankshaft revolution, an 8 cylinder, every quarter revolution. This means that a V8 will be smother running than a 4. To keep the combustion pulses from generating a vibration, a flywheel is attached to the back of the crankshaft. The flywheel is a disk that is about 12 to 15 inches in diameter. On a standard transmission car, the flywheel is a heavy iron disk that doubles as part of the clutch system. On automatic equipped vehicles, the flywheel is a stamped steel plate that mounts the heavy torque converter. The flywheel uses inertia to smooth out the normal engine pulses. Balance Shaft Some engines have an inherent rocking motion that produces an annoying vibration while running. To combat this, engineers employ one or more balance shafts.
Auto engine repair REPAIRING, IF ENGINE IS HAVING ANY OF THESE SYMPTOMS: - White smoke out of the muffler - Water drops out of the muffler - Constant loss of coolant - Coolant mixed with the engine oil - Exhaust gases in the radiator - Overheating on long uphills - Progressive loss of power - Hard to start when engine is cold - No heat from the Heater.
Auto fuel injection service and repair Throttle bodies are one of the over-looked areas when trying to find more horsepower. Most people think that if they add an aftermarket cold air induction system, that there will be an increase in air flow. The volume of air does increase, however, the amount of air let into the engine is restricted by the size of the throttle body opening. If you want to increase the amount of air into the engine, then you need to increase the size of the throttle body opening. BBK throttle bodies will allow you to increase the air-flow and that will allow the air from your cold air inuction into the engine. This will give you the extra horsepower that you have been looking for. Most vehicles will only take about 15-30 minutes to change the throttle body, and you will be on your way.

Wheel and tire balancing Wheel Balancing Improper wheel balance is the most common cause of tire vibration. Often a tire will appear to be round and true when rotated slowly. However, when one side is heavier than the other. centrifugal force tries to throw the heavy area outward during operation. To obtain maximum tire wear and a comfortable ride, you should balance the wheels. The two types of tire imbalance are as follows: DYNAMIC IMBALANCE (fig. 8-42) lies on either or both sides of the center line of the tire, which causes the tire to vibrate up and down (wheel hop) and from side to side (wheel shimmy). To be in dynamic balance, the top-to-bottom weight and the side-to-side weight must all be equal. STATIC IMBALANCE (fig. 8-43), also called wheel tramp or hop, lies in the plane of wheel rotation, which causes the tire to vibrate up and down.
